"There are currently many challenges for Hessen's economy in international business: massive cost increases for energy and raw materials, supply chain problems and weak demand in important sales markets are just a few. Against all odds, many medium-sized businesses are showing that international success is possible, says Kirsten Schoder-Steinmüller, President of the Hessian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (HIHK).
From 1 December 2022 to 28 February 2023, SMEs could apply. Provided they export or are active across borders, have no more than 250 employees and have an annual turnover of no more than 50 million euros. EPHYMESS, with an export share of now over 50%, fulfilled these criteria and applied for the export award.
The top-class jury with representatives from business, politics, science and the media has now selected the best projects in the categories industry, services & trade and crafts. The assessment criteria were diverse and ranged from the strategic positioning, the specific range of services and the type of market development to the design of foreign sales, internal company organisation, the leadership of the foreign actors and social commitment in the target market. The criteria show which individual factors can be relevant for success abroad.
From all the applicants, a total of nine companies were nominated for the Export Award. The overall winner in each category will only be revealed on the day of the award ceremony! At least one thing is certain: EPHYMESS was one of three companies in the "Industry" category to win against a number of impressive Hessian competitors with a convincing application.
Further information on the Export Award can be found on the website of IHK Wiesbaden Hessischer Exportpreis 2023 - IHK Wiesbaden uand the official website of the Hessian Export Award Hessischer Exportpreis 2023.
The award ceremony will take place on 1 July 2023 in Darmstadt.
We wish all nominees every success!
