Product properties

  • Operating temperature range -70°C to +260°C
  • Universal options for use
  • Protective sleeves made from brass or stainless steel
  • Variable dimensions
  • Embedding of 1 or 2 measuring resistors
  • Special implementation with protection class IP 66

Description

Cable sensors with metallic protective sleeves can be used almost anywhere. The brass or stainless steel sleeves are available from a diameter of 3 mm and a length of 20 mm. The sensor is connected firmly to the feed using a press squeeze, roll squeeze or casting. PVC, silicone, Teflon or glass fibre hose lines or PTFE single wires with a cross section of AWG 14 to AWG 30 are available as supply lines. Moisture-proof versions with protection class IP66 and IECEx and ATEX-approved versions are available as standard.

Cable sensor with metal sleeve (Ms) and press squeeze

In this temperature sensor, the measuring resistor and feed are pressed firmly into the protective sleeve with a hexagonal squeeze. To increase tightness, a shrinking tube can optionally be installed between the squeeze and feed.

Cable sensor with metal sleeve (VA) and roll squeeze

Here, the measuring resistor and the feed are connected firmly to the sleeve by beading. The advantage of the roll squeeze is that there is a continuous seal of the internal measuring resistor. That means that these temperature sensors are better protected against external environmental influences, such as penetration by condensation.

Cable sensor with metal sleeve (VA) and casting

In the casting process, the measuring resistor incl. feed is installed in the sleeve head with a casting compound. Different casting compounds are used depending on the sensor type and application. Duroplasts (epoxy resins), elastomers (silicones) or quartz powder are used as standard. The sensor is thus even better protected against penetration by moisture or other liquids than when a roll squeeze is used. Depending on the casting type, the maximum operating temperature can be up to +200°C.

Cable sensor with cable shoe

Here, the measuring resistor and the feed are sealed in a cable shoe. This construction is especially suitable for surface temperature measurement, particularly where there is also a requirement for high voltage-resistant insulation and good thermal contact with the measuring point.

Cable sensor with metal sleeve and drilled hole

This construction with aluminium square sleeve and a fastening hole with the dimensions 8 mm x 8 mm x 44 mm is also suitable for use to measure surface temperatures. The sensor can also be designed screened, for example for use on power electronics.
