Description

EPHYMESS PTC thermistors are predominantly motor protection PTC thermistors as per DIN 44081/44082 that are used in the winding of electric motors, generators and transformers. Combining a motor protection PTC thermistor with a trigger device provides am effective, good-value and fast-reacting solution for protecting electrical machines against overheating. They are available as single, double or triplet PTC thermistors. PTCs with different NATs can be connected in series in a measuring circuit to monitor different temperature ranges of a machine. When two measuring circuits are used, for example, a combination of pre-warning and shutdown is possible.

EPTC-SH single PTC thermistor with shrinking tube insulation

Single PTC thermistor (EPTC), PTC thermistor pill as per DIN EN 44081, pill size approx. ø <3 mm, enamelled and shrinking tube insulated with firmly connected single wires made from PTFE or FEP. Operating temperature -25°C ... TNAT+23 K, for ATEX versions only up to max. 180°C.

EPTC-DSH single PTC thermistor with double shrinking tube insulation

To increase the voltage resistance, PTC thermistors are insulated with double shrinking tube insulation made from Kynar®, Kynarflex® or Teflon®. The voltage resistance is then max. 3 kV.

DPTC-SH triplet PTC thermistor with shrinking tube insulation

Triplet PTC thermistor (DPTC), 3 PTC thermistor pills as per DIN EN 44082, pill size approx. ø <3 mm, enamelled and shrinking tube insulated, firmly connected Teflon® single wires in series. Triplet PTC thermistors can also be double insulated (DSH) with shrinking tube to increase the kV strength.
