Description

In temperature sensors for rail vehicles, one or two platinum measuring resistors are used as standard. The sensor is installed in a brass housing with protective sleeves of diameters Ø 5 mm to Ø 12 mm. Screened halogen-free and silicone-free special hose lines are used for signal transmission; these meet the extreme requirements in the rail segment regarding mechanical, chemical and thermal stability. Depending on the application, plastic corrugated pipe corrugated tube or rubber fabric hoses serve as additional protection for the lines. The plug connections in a sealed design are standard plug connections from various manufacturers (e.g. Harting, Amphenol, ITT, HTS, etc.). They are adapted to the specific requirements and the measuring signals to be transmitted. Various clamps, screws and mounting systems are available for mounting the sensors and feeds, tailored to the lines and installation situation on site.

Standard construction with 90° cable connection port – switchgear cabinet sensor

Universal construction with angled 90° cable connection port for wide range of usage options. The brass housing is a standardised component with the dimensions Ø 32 mm x 16 mm height. A choice of one or two Pt100 measuring elements can be installed. The stainless steel protective pipe is designed with diameters of Ø 5 mm to Ø 12 mm. The protective pipe length and the size and position of the fastening holes are adjusted for each specific customer.

Standard construction with 90° cable connection port and corrugated tube hose – motor winding

In addition to the properties of the above sensor construction, this sensor is equipped with an additional corrugated tube cable protection. This is a commonly used construction for monitoring drive motors.

Standard construction with 45° cable connection port and rubber fabric hose – wheelset bearing

This construction is often used to monitor the wheelset bearing. The cable connection port is designed in a 45° angle to aid assembly on the bearings. For use in the underfloor area under extremely adverse environmental conditions, the connection cable is also equipped with a rubber fabric hose.

Standard construction with 2 sensors in 45° and 90° cable connection port – gear sensor

In a gear sensor, two or more sensors are connected to a plug connection. Both temperature sensors and the connection of temperature sensor and speed sensor can be implemented. (See also ‘modular wire harness’.) The isolated shields of the individual sensors or sensor groups guarantee interference-free operation. Corrugated tube hoses or rubber fabric hoses, as well as various fittings and plug connections, are available as optional additional cable protection.
