The PTC thermistors are installed, electrically insulated, in different types of screw-in housing. They are often used in positions with little space, in machinery housing, or to monitor the temperature of surfaces, such as in switchgear cabinets. The screw-in housing made from aluminium, brass or stainless steel is available with or without a protective pipe, with permanently sealed hose line, PTFE single wires or a pressed connector.
Housed in a brass housing with a pressed connector M8, this construction fulfils protection class IP67, making it suitable even for harsher environments. The PTC thermistor is located inside the M4 threaded coupling and thus has an extremely short reaction time.
In this version, a PTC thermistor is connected with the supply line in a 2 wire circuit using a soft welding process. Kapton foil insulates the welding points against one another and the screw-in housing. To improve the thermal coupling, the sensor is sealed in the housing with heat-conducting paste. The hexagonal plastic cap makes installation easy and closes air-tight thanks to the use of silicone. The wire ends are installed in a terminal multipoint connector.
